What's Pickin'

A weekend trip to beautiful Western Massachusetts yielded many memories including this evocative message board hanging at Red Apple Farm in Phillipston.

It is rendered as large as the geometry of my blog provides. For a larger, more detailed, view just click on the photo.

Red Apple grows a particularly robust assortment of apples. The above list, which includes some very unusual (and delicious) apples, is just a snapshot of what was ready for picking on October 13:

Rome, McIntosh, Ida Red, Arkansas Black, Mutsu, Cortland, Spartan, Northern Spy, Macoun, Yellow Newtown Pippin, Baldwin, Golden Delicious, and Rhode Island Greening.
